Elementor at CloudFest, Despite Everything

In life, plans are often upended, but when you live in a war zone, that’s the default. Plans become a hope and and a dream, so we create backup plans on top of backup plans, and activate based on however the cards fall.

For example…

Elementor is sponsoring CloudFest with a focus on Angie, our agentic AI solution for WordPress. We will have a booth, swag, and demos galore targeting hosting companies, agencies and developers. Me and six other team members from Israel were booked and ready to go, and I was scheduled to moderate a panel on AI and hosting at the WP Summit, along with another talk during the main conference about WordPress and AI.

But yesterday we logged into the airline app to find that all our flights were cancelled.

So we scrambled to implement our backup plan – we’ll have four amazing European team members there to reprseent us: Nikolai Graf-Rüssel, Sophie Caperaa, Laura Sacco and Gustavo Galati. Between them they speak English, German, French, Italian and Spanish 🌎

Nikolai will give my talk instead of me, and Raquel Manriquez will step in as moderator of the panel.

So please visit our booth (Z36) and learn about Angie and what it means for AI in WordPress and Open Source ✨

I’m incredibly disappointed that I can’t attend – Cloudfest is a highlight of my year, and I was really looking forward to catching up with friends and meeting new people. Oh well.

Next up is WordCamp Asia – so far my flight hasn’t been cancelled, but who knows what will be 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hooks, Filters & Now Context: Why MCPs Are the Hooks of the AI Era
I gave this talk at WordCamp Asia 2026. The topic is something I've been thinking about: why WordPress's history of open extensibility is actually a structural advantage in the AI era, not just a nostalgic footnote.
EmDash is a signal, not a WordPress Successor
Cloudflare's EmDash CMS for Astro has some architectural advantages over WordPress. But for the people who actually need to build and run websites, architecture alone isn't enough.
